About cCRG

“Hunting forces a person to endure, to master themselves, even to truly get to know the wild environment. Actually, along the way, hunting and fishing make you fall in love with the natural world.”

who we are
A club built on Community and tradition
Founded in 1919 by a group of local sportsmen, Chemung Rod & Gun Club has long served as a gathering place for outdoor enthusiasts throughout the Twin Tiers. What began as a place for fellowship, shooting, and storytelling has grown into one of the region’s oldest and most established clubs, built on a foundation of safety, respect, and shared experience.
Over the decades, the club has expanded both its facilities and membership, evolving into a well-rounded destination for shooting sports and outdoor recreation. Today, with over 800 members and 300 acres of club-owned land, Chemung Rod & Gun Club continues to provide a welcoming environment for individuals and families to learn, practice, and connect.
Our mission
The object of this Club will be to promote outdoor sportsmen’s activities such as archery, firearms usage and fishing; to promote better hunting and fishing in Chemung County through the support of conservation organizations such as the Chemung County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, to promote activities for its members and by its members, on the club property and promote youth education and training to ensure future generations carry on our conservation heritage.
Our Value
This will be done by fostering a better observance of the fish and game laws and promoting a spirit of cooperation between the landowners and sportsmen; by encouraging better sportsmanship and furthering in every way possible, the conservation of wildlife and forests.
Our goals
The Club will promote the rights and freedoms of lawful citizens as protected under the Constitution of the United States of America, and promote public awareness through education of safe, proficient and lawful firearms, bow and rod usage.
Testimonials
From our Members
Club members share their thoughts on being part of Chemung County Rod and Gun Club.
A beautiful well organized facility, very nice!
As a member of this club I can personally say this is the best club in the area, the club offers a lot to do for whatever type of shooter you are. Gots an archery range, nice ranges up the hill, sheet shooting. Very nice. My dad has been going there for 40 years and still goes, and I plan on doing the same.
